Riverfront Enhancement

These are my personal feelings on the Riverfront Enhancement project. I believe we should find ways for the parks to be used more and be visually pleasant to the community. I believe there are ways to do this without destroying the Defeat of Jesse James Days Celebration. The Council should hear from the DJJD Committee, The Chamber of Commerce and some of the many non-profit groups who get the majority of their funds from the Celebration. The DJJD Committee provides the structure to bring visitors to town that weekend. Visitors often come back at other times and spend additional funds in town. Keeping the Celebration Events close to each other is necessary to have a successful events. The recent moves because of the flooding showed us how moving things effected the dollars spent. We can all work together to make Northfield the best it can be,
