I could only support the lowest level proposal to meet the city needs. Not a good time to support a “wish list”
We often talk of leaving Northfield city due to high tax levy- likely would not as I love this place, but still— just saying!

As usual it appears some council member feel that the taxes are available for them to spend on "desirable" items...During this pandemic there should be NO tax increase or at the very most the minimum 3.7% proposed....a lot of folks are just barely hanging on at this point and we have enough trees, bike lanes, etc to last for years to come....

There shouldn’t be an increase in taxes during this economic downturn. The citizens of Northfield shouldn’t be paying extra for a government that doesn’t stop spending money when they should be reducing expenditures instead of spending money on stupid and unnecessary things like blocking a road so people can fish.

This is NOT the time to increase taxes!!! Have a heart and think about all who have lost jobs and business this year due to the pandemic. We are all hurting and the last thing we need is another tax increase. Please delay spending on unnecessary projects and postpone the tax levy until at least 2022. Thank you!!

Pandemic, unemployment, unnecessary spending for ‘wants’ not ‘needs’ ie bike lanes/bump outs and vision reducing plantings. 3.7% and learn to live within your budget. Your citizens are not a charge card. If the wallet is empty, the spending stops.

3.7% max. Citizens don't need to pay more taxes. I think special projects can take a backseat at this point. The pandemic has many of us just hanging on.

Please do not raise taxes again right now. In the 4 years that I have owned a home in Northfield my taxes have almost doubled. We are in the middle of a pandemic and on the verge of a serious recession. Now is not the time to ask people for more money. If the budget can’t be met then frivolous spending should be put on hold. The city doesn’t need bike lakes, bump outs, and other cosmetics in a time like this. Please don’t increase the taxes.
