Return Water Street and the Fourth Street bridge to their previous function. For long term solution, keep 4th street bridge and street open for vehicle traffic all the way through Division. Construct more permanent pedestrian enhancements elsewhere that do not impede traffic or cut off business access in the area. COVID-19 is not going away anytime soon so more permanent solutions should be considered there are better ways to reduce the spread than this.

I support continuing the closure of Water Street as it provides additional spaces for residents, workers and visitors alike to enjoy the downtown while maintaining reasonable distance measures at this point in time. While I am not a fan of the design of the channelizers, I have appreciated what they have done to make pedestrian egress across the bridge a bit better. I would continue to favor the narrowing of this roadway until November.

I support continuing both the channelizers and the closure of Water Street until November. We are in a unique, temporary situation with this pandemic... the aesthetics will always be there and will return when social distancing is no longer necessary. In the meantime, we need to find a compromise in order to keep people safe, while at the same time allowing them ALL to enjoy our beautiful downtown. This too shall pass...please keep the temporary mitigations in place.

Remove temporary channelizers- too unsightly and road too narrow. Our lovely bridge square presentation with flowers is ruined by cement obstacles and porta potties.
For long term solution, keep 4th street bridge and street open for vehicle traffic all the way through Division.
Close off bridge square from the square to the river- for pedestrian gathering only.
Keep Water street open from parking on the river around the post office bend to Division street for the flow of traffic, mail boxes, and 4th street businesses.

Return Water Street and the Fourth Street bridge to their previous function for 1)proximal parking for those with limited mobility for Post Office use 2) safe passage of two vehicles over the Fourth Street bridge particularly delivery vehicles and emergency vehicles and 3) snow/ice 6months of our year will be problematic keeping the side walk and ‘dip walk’ clear and safe. The enhancements do nothing to improve the visual esthetics of the river and Bridge Square. There are better ways to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

I fully support the Alternate option. Water Street should remain closed, but the channelizers on on the 4th Street Bridge should be removed. They are an unnecessary eye sore. Plans should be started to permanently close Water Street. Thank you!
