Our family supports the Council's work to make it safe and comfortable for everyone to get around Northfield.

The City recently collected speed data on Water St and Division St., and found that compared to Water Street, the new design on Division (shorter crossings, etc.) radically reduces the number of cars speeding--without slowing down people who are driving safely. That not only makes people crossing the street safer; it makes people driving safer too. The shorter crossings (curb extensions, bump-outs, call them what you want) accomplish this at a fraction of what it would cost to use police, who have other important jobs.

We now know this works in Northfield. We hope the Council will put this information to work on this project.

I was nearly broadsided last year due to the high grass (before it was cut down) on the corner of 7th and Division. Please, please just give us straight streets in better repair, 90 degree corners and fill the potholes. I work at Reflections on the Three Links campus and Forest Street is a awful.
