Working families with children in sports and other activities often have trouble finding the time to attend meetings and make our voices heard in the community. The Civic Center project is important to my family, and we would appreciate the opportunity to vote in support of it. Thank you.

My family and I are in strong support of the council allowing the community to vote on the proposed tax to fund a new civic center.

The civic center will be a fantastic investment that will improve numerous young lives, families, and businesses for years to come. Such an important decision should be carefully considered and I am urging the council to let the community do just that.

As a coach of youth sports I have seen the profound impact that participating can have on our children. They learn and experience so many values and have a blast doing so. When I have travelled to neighboring communities for hockey, even our 6-8 year olds will comment on how nice these other facilities are.

But the potential benefits and uses go beyond hockey. I have attended many other events in hockey arenas during off-season months including consignment sales, craft and art shows, dog shows and events such as agility trials and nose work trials to name just a few. The possibilities are great. Thanks

When it comes to the Civic Center facility in Northfield, we simply (and literally) can't afford to wait any longer to take action! This project is not just about hockey. It's about creating an amazing, multi-purpose facility to not only bring people within our community together, but also to bring other families/communities to the town of Northfield.

Because of the state of our current arena, it is NOT worth investing significant improvement dollars. There are functional issues with the building. Most importantly, the safety of spectators, players, and visitors. The current site is landlocked that would not allow for any sort of expansion, ample parking, or a second sheet of ice.

The benefits of this facility will out-weigh the cost implications of the property and sales tax increase. It will be an economic driver for the Northfield community, and will fund long term continuous improvements of our local parks, trails and other rec. facilities. Let us vote!

As a resident who grew up in Northfield, and then years later returned to raise my children in this wonderful community, I strongly support letting our community vote to construct a civic center. The Northfield ice area just does not meet the needs of our community and to have something new that can be used for many activities would be an asset to our community. Please let the community vote so they have the chance to decide what our community needs.

As citizens of Northfield, my wife and I wholly support the resolution for a sales and excise tax increase for the purpose of improving the area's recreational facilities.

We think it is in the best interest of the city council to approve this resolution so that the citizens of Northfield and Dundas can make the decision on whether the benefits exceed the cost of these improvements.

The citizens of Dundas, although separated by imaginary lines, is in the same community with the citizens of Northfield. We believe the tax burden should be shared along with the enjoyment of the new and improved facilities.

We are very excited about the opportunity to vote in favor of this recreational improvement. It is an incredible opportunity to improve the quality of life for area residents and those that visit.
