As a Northfield resident and as the Northfield Poet Laureate, I support the entirety of Resolution 2018-051 and urge you to vote yes to all three items included in the resolution: 5th street, monument digital sign and landscaping, and public art. Ames Park is a major gateway to the city, and is currently underdeveloped and underutilized. This project will align with several important city planning documents, and reinforce Northfield's distinctive image as an arts town that provides a "vibrant culture" and "celebrated arts" (city vision statement) for residents and a unique and attractive destination for visitors.
