Please take a look at the attached letter to the Northfield City Council. My letter clearly shows that we have a problem with a parking shortage downtown Northfield. Past studies have proven that we have a problem and this street plan will only make it worse. Granted, we have more of an issue on the North end of the downtown, but the south end is getting busier as we proceed with the Nfld Hospital Quick Clinic and the proposed Liquor store relocation. My letter also proves that vehicle ownership is on the increase, not the decrease. I'm asking that we maximize parking by adding diagonal parking everywhere possible. For instance, all of the South Side of 7th street between Water and Washington. We can deal with the 702 Washington property by putting up a sign allowing overnight parking by permit only similar to the downtown lots. Please read the attached letter and respond to my suggestions. Please address the smaller bumpouts to allow truck traffic. Don't choke the downtown!
