I write in support of adding an idea to the Comp Plan. I'm looking at the pdf in your packet, page 62 of 67: "Strategy 7: Maintaining Northfield's Existing Housing Stock." The Comp Plan does a good job of talking about maintaining that existing stock, but does not address the demolition of existing stock--the ultimate way to maintain it is to keep it in use. Between both colleges about 30 houses have been demolished in the last 2 1/2 years. Please add one sentence as #7 on p. 62 like "Discourage demolition of existing houses" or "Encourage saving houses from demolition"--one sentence would give individuals and groups a way to more forward within the Comp Plan to save houses in the future. Encourage in-fill by saving houses from the landfill.
