I strongly support this development. Contrary to allegations, City staff and developers are following normal legal procedures to create a much-needed housing addition to our community. I live a few blocks away and treasure the variety of homes and people who make up my immediate neighborhood and the larger community. This development promises to enhance the diversity that is enriching Northfield. Please clarify to the anxious neighbors how the City can take an active role in managing traffic changes for safety and comfort. Perhaps the City needs to help residents understand why in-fill and density matter, and how the resulting traffic changes can be supported safely. I'd like to see a paper on specific steps that are normally taken at various traffic levels to help us imagine a safe environment even with increased density.
